Robert Buck

Robert Mitcham Buck Sr. graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, before returning to NY to work for McMillian Publishing in NYC. He moved to Orlando, Florida, for a job opportunity at Martin Marietta.  At Martin, Robert met his future business partner Robert J. McGarry. They would go on to form Presentations South Inc. known as PSI. PSI created themed environments and exhibits for Museums around the world and Orlando’s famed theme parks. Over PSI’s 35+ year successes, they served over 150 of this nation’s most prestigious museums including the Statue of Liberty Museum, Smithsonian Institute’s Nation of Nations, Smithsonian Institution’s Milestones of Flight in the Air and Space Museum, The U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, and Orlando’s own Orlando Science Center. Robert Married his second wife Texann Ivy in July 1978 and they were happily married for over 44 years. Robert passed away in 2022.

Bill Milligan

Bill Milligan attended the Georgia Military Academy, the Citadel, and then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force during which time he was stationed in Bermuda, the Azores, Turkey, and then finally in French Morocco. Afterwards he returned to Orlando, and then enrolled at the University of Florida but was called home to work in the family owned business – the Orange Court Hotel, located on Orange Avenue. Milligan was active in many Orlando civic associations, including the South Orlando Kiwanis Club, Historical Society of Central Florida, and Orlando Remembered. He died in 2017.

Carl (Sandy) Dann III

Carl (Sandy) Dann lll was born May 9, 1932. His family has been in the Orlando area since the early 1800’s. Sandy’s Grandfather built and managed Dubsdread Golf Course which hosted national tournaments into the ’50s. His father was an accomplished golfer who knew and played against the giants of golf before it became a professional sport. His Lawson grandparents developed what is called the Lawsona District of Orlando today. They also were instrumental in the development of a sleepy city in Central Florida. Sandy was a dentist, a wild game hunter, and adventurer, and a pioneer. He passed away in 2020.

Claude Wolfe

The Wolfe family is well known among those who help curate Orlando’s history. Claude was born in 1934 at Orlando’s “Orange General Hospital” to his father, Claude H. Wolfe and mother, Isabelle Wolfe. 

As a young boy, Claude spend many of his days working in the family orange grove, hoeing young trees, irrigating them and working to make sure the grove was pest-free. Back in those days it was all manual labor. 

As he got older, Claude worked in the family appliance store business delivering refrigerators, washing machines and TVs. In the 1960s, he switched to real estate which he continues to practice today some 50 years later.

Claude was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, President of Yowell’s Young Presbyters and President of the Orlando Jaycees. He was actively involved as a member of the Orange County Regional History Center and former president of Orlando Remembered.

Claude attended Delaney Elementary, Cherokee Junior High School, Orlando High School and the Riverside Military Academy in 1952. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1956 and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served on the ROTC Billy Mitchell Drill Team, Scabbard and Blade Honor Society.

Leon H. Handley

Leon H. Handley was born September 9, 1927. He came to Orlando Air Force Base in the summer of 1949 with ROTC. He returned in 1951 to practice law with Maguire Voorhis and Wells. He married Mary Virginia Wolfe, an Orlando native in 1953. Mary Virginia passed away in 2013. Early in his career, Leon joined J. Thomas Gurney and spent 52 years with the law firm Gurney and Handley. Handley passed away in 2021.

Robert “Bob” Serros

Native Orlandoan Dr. Serros opened a private ophthalmology practice and became the first specialist in Osceola County to perform cataract surgery. Throughout his almost fifty-year career, Dr. Serros was dedicated to excellence and pioneering treatments within his field. He continued to practice with a deep sense of compassion until his well-earned retirement in 2009.

Though his professional career led him to pioneer advancements in eye surgery, Bob’s devotion to history and community preservation became his lifelong calling. He was a champion of Orlando’s past, ensuring that its stories, landmarks, and legacy would not be forgotten. He was a recipient of the prestigious Cheney Award and his tireless advocacy and powerful words in defense of history left an indelible mark on the city. Bob Serros passed away in March of 2025.

Andy Serros

Andy was very active in many civic organizations and a leader in the community. He was chairman of the fundraising drive to build Mercy Hospital, helped establish Valencia Community College, and was instrumental in the creation of Orlando Remembered. He was active in the Orlando Kiwanis Club, Phi Delta Theta Alumni Association, Orlando Jaycees, Orlando High School Reunions, Omega Xi Fraternity, Gator Boosters, St. James Church Parish Council, the Catholic Diocese of Orlando, the University Club of Orlando, and formed the Ol’ Timers Club for Orlandoans who have been residents for 65 years. Andy was a lifelong resident of Orlando – his parents owned and operated Serros Fish & Poultry in the 1920s. They arrived in America from Athens, Greece and Naples, Italy. Serros died in 2007 at the age of 85.

Texann Ivy Buck

Gallerist, Curator, and Orange County Art Legend, Texann Ivy Buck was a force in Orlando Remembered from its inception in 1981. She was born in New York on November 3, 1947, and was married to Robert M. Buck for 44 years. She passed away on 2021 leaving a rich cultural legacy that made Orlando a more colorful and vibrant community. Texann was a pillar of the art community and maintained an art gallery, Texann Ivy Fine Arts and Art Appraisers and Consultants in downtown Orlando for many years. She was a member of the Appraisers Association of America and she supported the Orlando Museum of Art and the Cornell Museum of Art at Rollins College. Texann was a member of many volunteer organizations including the Pine Castle Historical Society; the Central Florida Genealogical Society; the Orlando Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
