
Peggy Jo (Pounds) Van den Berg was born in Orlando in 1933. Her family is recognized as the “dance instructors of Orlando.” She attended Concord Elementary, Memorial Junior High (on Lake Eola), graduated from Orlando High School, Class of ’51 and attended Sullins College in Bristol, VA. She was a member of the Junior League of Orlando for 22 years and was a volunteer Pink Lady (Merit Member) at Orange Memorial Hospital for 11 years. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia Society, the board of the Historical Society of Central Florida, Inc. and was a former chair of Orlando Remembered. She passed away in 2023.
